Wiretap is a local multiplayer word-guessing party game for 2 to 12 players, inspired by the board game Decrypto. Two teams are each assigned four secret keywords. Every round, one player — the Encryptor — receives a secret 3-digit code pointing to three of their team's keywords and must write clues that help teammates crack the code without tipping off the opposition.

Your team decodes. The enemy intercepts. Get intercepted twice and you lose. Miscommunicate twice — your own team can't figure out your clues — and you also lose. If neither happens, the team with the most interceptions after six rounds wins. Every clue you write is a tightrope between clarity and secrecy.

Everyone plays on their own device, connected over local Wi-Fi — no internet required. One player hosts and friends join with a room code or by tapping the game in the automatic nearby-games list. Short a player? Fill empty seats with AI bots: five spy personas across three ranks, from the scattergun Recruits to the ice-cold Spymaster. If a phone drops off, you can rejoin mid-game, and host migration keeps the room alive if the host leaves.

Wiretap is free to play, with ads that stay out of the action — banners on menus and occasional interstitials between games, never during a live round. A one-time Premium unlock removes all ads and opens up premium word decks and the higher-rank bots. An interactive tutorial teaches the game in minutes, and personal stats and achievement badges give you something to chase.
